Mesa State Gets Technology Grant From Feds

Video will be available shortly.

Mesa State College is the recipient of a $440,000 federal grant to create an innovative teaching program for high–tech computer modeling and machining.

The teaching program is being developed by Western Colorado Community College and will teach students in the manufacturing technology programs how to design computer–machined prototypes.

The computer modeling machine takes a block of plastic and mills it into prototypes, saving millions of dollars in development costs.
Once the three–year instructional program is developed, WCCC instructors will share teaching techniques with other colleges across the country.

The grant is provided by the National Science Foundation.
