The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a rescue Monday afternoon after five people who were rafting down the Colorado river got thrown off.
The raft overturned and threw the passengers off near the Pedestrian Riverbend Bridge near the Botanical Gardens. Two of the passengers safely swam to shore and the remaining three were able to overturn the raft and get back in. They were pulled in by the fire department's rescue boat. None of the rafters were injured.
