County Officials Break Ground On New Facility

Mesa County officials break ground today on the county's new Community Corrections and Methamphetamine Treatment Facility. More than 100 people attended the ground breaking ceremony. Dennis Berry with Mesa County Criminal Justice Services hosted the event reiterating just how important the new facility is. The 25–thousand square foot building costs about three–million dollars less than building a new jail and about a half a million dollars less to operate. The new facility will add 140 beds to the capacity of Mesa County's existing Community Corrections Facility. 48 of the beds will be reserved for the new Methamphetamine Treatment Program. The new facility will connect with an existing Mesa County Criminal Justice Services Building.
