Officials with the Glacier Ice Arena say they hope to open their doors to the public within the next three to four weeks. Thursday crews worked on flooding and freezing the rink. More than 12–thousand gallons of water are needed for just an inch and a half of ice to form.
They anticipate they'll have a thin layer of ice on the rink by Sunday afternoon. Once open, Glacier Ice Arena plans to host teen and young adult nights every Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The ice arena will also be equipped to host bands, special occasions and even dance parties.
