The City of Grand Junction is hosting a forum tonight with federal officials to discuss issues relating to natural gas and minerals leasing.
With natural gas exploration moving closer to the Grand Valley, the City of Grand Junction-and many citizens- have questions about the leasing process and safeguards used to ensure clean air and water standards. The forum features a presentation by federal oil and minerals expert Duane Spencer of the Bureau of Land Management.
The forum is tonight at the City Hall auditorium at 7pm, and the public is invited. The meeting will also be broadcast on Mesa County cable channel 12, and viewers will be allowed to phone in questions if they can't make to the meeting in person.
