Colorado Springs, Colo. (AP) El Paso county authorities say they're investigating about a dozen cases of possible voter-registration fraud.

County clerk and recorder Bob Balink said Monday the cases involve registration forms submitted to his office with false information, such as incorrect driver's license numbers.

Balink says one possible explanation is political activists submitting the forms pretending to be the people identified on the document.

Balink says three off his staff began screening voter registrations on Monday. Investigators from the district attorney's office are also participating in the inquiry.

EL Paso county has about 354,000 registered voters.
