GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Walkers have tightened up their laces with hopes of ending obesity both in Colorado and across the country. The ASMBS Foundation and St. Mary’s organized a 5k Walk from Obesity yesterday morning at 10 a.m.
The walk was designed to raise public awareness about obesity.
Around 150 walkers took on the three mile walk that took place at Eagle Rim Park.
“We need to do the walk because we need to help raise funds to help those who are affected by obesity,” said Maria Pollen. “We all know people in our community and our families who really suffer from obesity and it’s tough for people to go through life. We want people to have a good quality life.”
