Mesa State Designated Enterprise Zone

Just in time for a major capital fundraising campaign, Mesa State College is designated a Colorado enterprise zone. The school's President Tim Foster made the announcement on the campus Thursday. The enterprise zone designation means money donors can qualify for an income tax credit equal to 25 percent of their contributions to the college. It applies to donating individuals and businesses. The process to become an enterprise zone took about six months and the approval of the Colorado Economic Development Commission. College President Tim Foster says the designation helps to recognize the economic impact Mesa State makes on the Grand Valley community. The enterprise zone designation coincides with a capital campaign the college plans to kick off in the fall. Contributions during the campaign will be used for campus expansion projects, new construction, financial aid, and scholarships.
