Dozens of future Todd Helton's, David Ortiz' or Derek Jeter's were out at Suplizio Field in Grand Junction Sunday morning to take part in the Colorado Rockies Skills Challenge.
Kids between the ages of 6 and 13 tested their skills in batting, throwing and running. All for a chance to advance to a sectional and possibly a state competition, which will be held at Coors Field in Denver.
But no matter the skill level, Sunday's competition was fun for everyone involved. The competition was free and every player involved was given a certificate of achievement and participation.
