A Mesa County Judge rules that two attempted murder suspects will be stand trial separately. Samuel Lincoln and Charles Pruitt are accused of shooting James Finnegan and leaving him for dead in the desert north of Grand Junction last fall. Lincoln is also accused of firing shots at Mesa County Sheriff's Deputies following the incident. In court Tuesday morning Lincoln waived his right to a speedy trial in that case, so his trial for the shooting incident won't be until mid–March. However his attempted murder trial will begin in January. Charles Pruitt's attempted murder trial will begin in early November and is expected to last seven to eight days. Both men are expected in court again in September for a motions hearing.
