A former Central High School girl's basketball coach who kissed and hugged a student in his office was sentenced Monday.
Matt Lindholm will spend the next five years on intensive supervised sex offender probation. He will also serve 90 days of home monitoring, undergo sex offender treatment and have to register as a sex offender for life.
During his sentencing Lindholm addressed the court. He apologized to the people who were affected, including the victim, and said he takes full responsibility for his poor actions. He also apologized to Central High School and the community.
The District Attorney's Office charged Lindholm with two counts of sexual assault on a child but dropped it to one count of attempted sexual assault after Lindholm agreed to a plea deal.
Lindholm hugged and kissed the student several time in the coach's office at Central High School and bought her clothing as a gift.
