Flipping Out Over Flapjacks: 150-Thousand Served At Kiwanis Club Breakfast

The syrup flowed as music...prizes...and of course pancakes attract thousands to the 39th annual Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast at Two Rivers Convention Center today.

For four dollars hungry participants could eat all the pancakes, green eggs and sausage they could hold.

In addition to the pancakes, there is also a benefit auction and cake walk, all to continue the Kiwanis Club's mission to help the young people of the Grand Valley. One Kiwanian says he suspects pancakes became the food of choice for the fundraiser because 39 years ago members could not cook well, making pancakes are an easy, no-fuss solution.

Volunteers from Partners of Mesa County, RSVP, CASA, Hilltop, Kids Voting of Mesa County and Catholic Outreach all helped flip and serve the estimated 150–thousand pancakes doled out today.
