The Colorado wine industry contributed more than $40 million to the state economy last year.
According to a study conducted by Colorado State University
Colorado's wine production ranks 22nd in the country and accounts for 3% of sales nationwide.
Wine sales have grown five fold in the past ten years and last year Colorado produced 76, 550 cases of wine a total of 689,000 liters.
There are 66 wineries in Colorado the majority of which are located on the Western Slope.
