Unknown vandals cause damage to more than 30 mailboxes over the weekend in Palisade and Clifton. Many Palisade residents living along on G 7/10 Road woke up this Monday morning to find their mailboxes destroyed. According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office there's little suspect information at this time. But some witnesses say they saw a small dark sedan driving in the area with several teens in it who were using a dark colored baseball bat to hit the mail boxes as they drove by.
In all more than $1,100.00 worth of damage was reported. The suspects involved in this case face class four felony criminal mischief charges and could face two to six years in jail or up to $500,000.00 in fines. Anyone with information regarding the suspects involved in this case is asked to call the Mesa County Sheriff's Office or Crimestoppers at 241– STOP. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000.00 for information leading to an arrest.
