With the deadline looming, area bar owners are turning to the Federal court, hoping for a few more months to make their case. Bar owners are speaking up so their patrons have the right to light up. That's why they traveled to Grand Junction from all over the Western Slope to talk about their Federal Court date. On Friday the Coalition for Equal Rights will go before a Federal Judge and ask for a temporary restraining order on the statewide smoking ban. Bar owners plan to travel to Denver for the Friday morning hearing and hope to pack the Federal courtroom with more than 200 people. The Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act prohibits smoking in public places except casinos, cigar lounges, retail tobacco businesses, limousines for hire and Denver International Airports' Smoking Lounge.
