Apricots join the fresh cherries at the Palisade Farmers Market Saturday. It's still a little early in the season but there are still quite a few fresh veggies and fruits to choose from. One local company however has found a way to offer a variety of fruits at the farmers market all season.
Voorhees Dried Fruit takes the over ripe fruit that Colorado farmers can't sell and makes fruit leathers from the sweet leftovers. Voorhees Dried Fruit was the featured farmer for the week and they were also encouraging the local economy while they were out there. Voorhees offered an additional ten percent discount with a receipt of more than $20 spent at any Palisade business.
