Pinnacle Homes Country Jam 2006 is officially in the books, and Country Jammers are packing up while crews are cleaning up. Thousands of music fans once littered the Pinnacle Homes Country Jam Concert grounds, but now all that's left is litter. Alan Anderson with Collbran Job Corps says he wishes more folks would use trash cans but that cleaning up is all part of the job.
More than 240 students, parents and teachers from the Job Corps are sifting through trash and trying to restore the festival grounds. The job isn't glamorous by any means, but it's an important life lesson for these at risk youth. Anderson says it teaches them teamwork and leadership skills.
Crews won't have to work quite as hard to clean–up the camp ground. For the most part campers have taken it upon themselves to make neat little piles for them to swing by and pick up. For the many like the Morewood family packing up is proving to be quite a challenge. That's because they picked up many new souvenirs along the way.
It will take crews more than 6 hours to clean up all the litter left behind by the more than 10–thousand Country Jammers. If you missed Country Jam there's always Rock Jam Sept. 8th and 9th.
