Commercial Growth Continues In Fruita

Video will be available shortly.

The trend continues in Fruita, as city council members are seeing not just more people moving to the area, but more businesses wanting to move in as well. One region of Fruita that has started seeing more commercial business is right off of Interstate 70, with the construction of Kokopelli Plaza and other retail spaces.

City council members gathered for a workshop Tuesday night to discuss items that will be on the agenda for next week's regular meeting. One of those items will pertain to a site plan for the construction of a new Mack truck center in the Jurassic Development Commercial Park. The 18,000 square-foot building will not be a rest stop for truckers, but will complement the existing Peterbilt facility currently in place and with Fruita growing every year, community planners say commercial revenue is important. The proposed truck center will mainly provide truck sales, service and parts for commercial vehicles.
