13 Horses Need Loving Homes

An update now on a story 11 News first brought you on Sunday. Last week dozens of horses were rescued from slaughter and many still need loving homes. The horses are from the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge in Northwest, Nevada and were rounded up in June by Fish and Wildlife Services. According to Carol Martin with Flying AH Ranch incorporated. The Spanish Mustangs were being sent to an adoption agent who had a reputation for slaughtering animals. So Carol's non–profit organization stepped in and adopted them. 27 horses have been adopted, but 13 still remain. Flying AH Ranch incorporated are offering the horses for just $120, but people should keep in mind that on average it cost about $1200 a year to care for a horse.
