The Montrose Modeleers Aircraft Association received a special invitation to introduce their flying hobby to some students at the Grand Mesa Division of Youth Corrections in Grand Junction.
The modeleers taught about 33 students how to make a Delta Dart, which is a rubber band powered airplane. This is the second time the modeleers were invited to the facility, and they hope to make it an annual visit.
Building and flying the Delta Dart airplanes ties in with the students science lesson on flying.
