Cosmetic Controversy

Video will be available shortly.

There's always going to be some controversy over cosmetic procedures and whether they're safe or not, or if they even produce effective results. One Grand Junction doctor recently purchased a device that he says works to firm and smooth skin without surgery.

Thermoge is a non–invasive procedure which claims to smooth, tighten and contour skin for an overall younger looking appearance. Some doctors say the results are unpredictable and modest, while others say it gets the job done. Thermoge's claim to fame is that there's no surgery, no injections and no downtime. The procedure takes about 30 to 90 minutes to perform.

According to Dr. Howell results appear gradually over a two to six month period and last up to 36 months. The cost ranges anywhere from $1,200 to $3,000. Dr. Howell's office, Silver Moon Cosmetics, is the exclusive provider of Thermoge on the Western Slope.
