It's not just about the kicking, passing, and dribbling at the Shannon Mac soccer camp in Grand Junction. With the help of State Senator Ron Teck girls and some of the moms in attendance are learning about the choices and consequences of underage drinking.
It's called "Girl Talk" and it's a nationwide program being launched by the Century Council. The organization says drinking among teen-aged girls is on the rise and most mom's don't even know it. On a positive note 71 percent of teenagers think the health consequences associated with drinking are serious. Identifying the big ones as alcohol poisoning, rape, and unsafe or unplanned sex.
