Old cars, a horse-drawn carriage, and of course speeches mark the opening of the 29 Road Bridge today.
The new bridge spans more than eight-hundred feet and is eighty feet wide. Climbing eighty feet from the north bank to the south, the bridge has a de-icing system for inclement winter weather.
Commissioner Tillie Bishop says the span should provide new opportunities for Orchard Mesa, bringing jobs to the area as businesses discover the ease of crossing the river.
