Shooting Victim May Be The One Facing Charges

So far no arrests have been made in connection with a Fruitvale shooting that happened last night in a residential neighborhood, but officials say the man who was shot could possibly be the one facing charges in this case.

The shooting happened a little after 10:30p.m. at 2995 Pinyon Avenue.
Myranda Clifton was at home with her two young children and her roommate Michael Craig, when her ex–boyfriend Michael Ball came over. According to authorities Ball assaulted Clifton and refused to leave. That's when Craig stepped in and fired two shots at Ball hitting him in the chest. Ball was taken to St. Mary's Hospital where he remains in serious condition. Both Clifton and Craig were taken to the Sheriff's Office for questioning.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is processing the scene, and authorities are looking into the possibility that this case may fall under the Make My Day Law for self-defense. Whether this case fits into that definition is now up to investigators.

Michael Ball was arrested last month for domestic violence against a different woman in Delta County.
