Western Colorado Community College Assistant Director Dale Doty gives members of the Grand Junction Lions Club an update on the Ken Nesbitt Center today. Funds from a $30,000 donation from the club were used to buy portable equipment like saws and planers that otherwise may not have been available. The donation also helps fulfill a Lions Club legacy, as Ken Nesbitt was a long-time member of the club.
The Nesbitt Center teaches high school and college-age people the skills needed to join the burgeoning ranks of construction workers needed in the Grand Valley and around the country.
Each year the Lions Club raises more than $150,000 to give to various groups in the Grand Valley.
