Clifton Teenager Rescued Friday Night On Colorado River


A Clifton teenager is safe and sound, thanks to the help of bystanders and authorities who are forced to make a rescue along the Colorado River.

Authorities responded to the call that came in around 9 o'clock Friday night from the mother of the stranded teenager. According to the Mesa County Sheriff's office, the 18 year old woman, Jessica Pauls, some how floated down from the Corn Lake Area and ended up stranded on a sand bar near the new 29 Road Bridge.

The Clifton Fire Department responded with a boat and was able to rescue the girl from the sand bar. She was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for observation and later taken to Colorado West Mental Health.
