It is back to school time and that means Mervyns Department Store is hosting its annual shopping spree. This year's beneficiaries are the Mesa County Partners Program.
Partners is a non–profit agency helping children who are in at risk home environments. They help the children by pairing them with an adult mentor who devotes three hours a week with the child. The adult partner can help the child with homework, plan fun activities, or just offer some support and guidance.
This was the first time Partners has been involved in the shopping spree with Mervyns, and each child got an allowance of one hundred dollars.
Partners is always looking for volunteers, especially male volunteers because they have 75 boys waiting to be a part of the program.
If you're interested, you can call Partners at 245–5555.
