A Wendy's Restaurant in Clifton is closed Monday night after a 17–year-old driver crashes her car into the building.
The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Wendy's on the I–70 business loop near 32 Rd. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the female driver was doing more than 70 mph when rounding the corner of the 32 Rd. overpass in the westbound lanes. Apparently she lost control of the vehicle, collided with a vehicle in the parking lot and then hit the building. The investigation into the crash is on–going, however, state patrol investigators believe speed and inexperience are factors in the accident.
As for the restaurant, the Clifton Fire Department closed the restaurant for the night sighting structural concerns, it should reopen Tuesday.
