DOW Urges Hunters To Use Leftover Licenses

Colorado hunters may be eligible for an additional deer hunting permit this year if they are willing to compromise.

Some areas of western Colorado-especially areas east of Meeker-have too many female deer. Most hunters have their sights on bucks, and that has caused an imbalance in sex ratios for the species. Colorado Division of Wildife biologists say hunters have a rare chance to help manage the species by puchasing a leftover deer license. This gives many hunters the rare opportunity to hold two licenses and double their bag limits.

There are still quite a few licenses left. To find out which hunt units are available for the doe hunts stop by the nearest Division of Wildlife office or license agent.
