Firefighters Finally Get New Engine

After serving Central Orchard Mesa for nearly 50 years, the volunteer fire department finally gets a brand new engine to call their own.

In October the firefighters received a department of homeland security grant for more than $170,000.00. With that money the volunteer staff purchased a 2005 American La France Fire Engine. The truck is the first new piece of equipment the department has ever purchased in its 47 year history.

The Central Orchard Mesa Volunteer Fire Department provides emergency and medical services to the area between 30 1/4 Road to 35 road, and the Colorado River to about A Road.
