The dream of owning a home comes true for one deserving mother of two. It took three years and thousands of hours of hard work. But thanks to Habitat for Humanity's Women Build, Rosa Garza and her family now have a new home to call their very own.
Committed citizens, mostly women, raised the money to build the home and actually did most of the labor themselves. The Women Build Committee Co–Chair Teresa Coons says she's proud of the outcome and is looking forward to the Garza family moving in. Coons adds that the Women Build Department of Habitat for Humanity is not about excluding men, it's about including women.
The Garza family plans to move in sometime this week.
