The City of Grand Junction is trying to adopt a watershed ordinance that would protect the city's drinking water.
Wednesday night, city council members stayed late into the night discussing the ordinance. They have decided to let the citizens voice their opinion on the matter in a public hearing to be held September 6th. If passed, the ordinance would require applicants to get a watershed permit issued by the city.
If the city council does not approve the ordinance, the measure will go to the voters on the November 7th General Election.
