Six New School's Dedicated in Grand Valley

Monday marks the start of a new school year; which means new faces, teachers, and even some new schools for the Mesa County Valley School District 51.

It has been snip, snip, snip these past two days. Six schools have been dedicated as part of a $109 million bond measure. Friday morning, Pear Park welcomed a new elementary school to their growing community. The bond measure also allowed for an older neighborhood school, East Middle School, to get a face lift. The school was originally built as an open concept building, but now there are permanent walls that divide the classrooms.

The other new schools include, Rim Rock Elementary, Fruita 8/9 School, Bookcliff Middle School, and a Career Center in Grand Junction.
