The east entrance of the Colorado National Monument was shut down Sunday afternoon after a semi and car collide on Rim Rock Drive.

That crash happened just before 4:30 pm.

Officials say a semi was driving down Rim Rock Drive from Glade Park, when it came around a sharp curve, pushing the trailer into the opposite lane. As a result, they say one of the trailers tires drove onto the front of a BMW that was driving around the curve the opposite direction.

Authorities shut down the east gate of the monument for nearly an hour while crews cleared the scene.

Officials say no one was injured in the crash.
