One Mesa County Democrat will soon be on her way to Washington, to watch Barack Obama be sworn in as our nation's 44th President.

First it was off to Denver to watch Barack Obama accept his party's nomination for the presidency. Then, it was just down the street to the Cross Orchards Farm to see him campaign in the Grand Valley. And now --

"One more time," said Mary Beth Pyle, Chair of the Mesa County Democrats.

-- Pyle will be traveling with her friend, Montrose County Democrats Chair Jayne Bilberry, to the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building to watch him make history.

"He just has a magnetism about him that just appeals to everyone," said Pyle. "I've never seen excitement like this in my sixty some years."

And she'll witness it up close. Pyle and Bilberry are two of the 240,000 people across the country who scored tickets for the swearing in ceremony.

"We were so excited we got them," said Pyle. "We were just thrilled."

And they'll be two of the more than 1 million people expected to be in Washington DC on Inauguration Day.

"Crowds don't bother me," said Pyle. "I'll have fun with that and I'm looking forward to it."

After the speech, it's off to the Colorado Inaugural Ball that Monday night.

"We feel like Cinderella going to the ball," said Pyle.

Pyle says there may also be an opportunity to go to another ball on Tuesday, capping off what she calls the trip of a lifetime.

"It's just gonna be fun, the whole town is going to be so exciting," said Pyle. "Just the way it was in Denver for the National Convention, and just the way it was in Grand Junction when Barack Obama came to see us."
