Colorado State Patrol says troopers have found the man they believe was behind the wheel of van that crashed into a Clifton home Monday night.

Officials say 33-year-old Dale Unselt has been cited for careless driving, driving with a revoked license, no proof of insurance, failure to notify law enforcement of an accident, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Just before 8:00 Monday night, a van was seen driving down Hill Avenue. Officials say as it was turning onto Ridge Lane, it went off the road, hit a parked truck, then took out the side of an attached garage at one of the homes there.

Eyewitnesses tell 11 News Unselt and two others then got out of the van and ran. They say a neighbor caught up to him and tackled him. They say Unselt managed to get away, but not before the neighbor got his wallet.

Troopers say evidence from the scene and eyewitness accounts led them to Unselt. He denies being the driver of the van and has been released on a summons.

Although troopers say they won't be able to charge him with DUI, they do believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
