BOULDER, COLO. (AP) _ Thousands of Boulder County residences have been told to evacuate as two wildfires threaten neighborhoods.

Boulder firefighters are battling two grass fires north of the city that has burned one structure and is threatening another.

Boulder County Sheriff's Officials say U.S. 36 has been closed from the city limits north, close to Lyons. authorities say the fire is moving toward a field of Llama.

Another fire west of Niwot is also threatening structures.
