Boulder County deputies say some homes have been told to evacuate because of two wind-driven wildfires threatening communities on the front range.

Sheriff's Cmdr. Phll West says residents within a mile of each fire were told to leave wednesday, but it's not clear how many homes are involved.

No injuries have been reported.

West says calls were made to 11,000 land lines alerting residents to the fire, but only those close to the fire were warned to evacuate.

Authorities say a barn and house burned north of Boulder, and
another fire was threatening structures near the small town of
Niwot, just north of Boulder both areas are about 25 miles north
of Denver.

The fire apparently started when winds knocked down a power line
