A Colorado Congressman makes a special stop in Grand Junction to announce he's secured funding for a center at St. Mary's Hospital.
US Representative John Salazar secured $425,000.00 for the Saccomanno Education Center. The funding will help cover the cost of expanded facilities and equipment for the center which is slated to grow as part of St. Mary's $200–Million Century Plan. The Saccomanno Education Center will feature state–of–the –art technology and enhance physician cross consultation.
The total request for the project was $2.2 Million. Congressman Salazar says the final funding decision will be made when members of the House and Senate convene in conference committee later this fall.
US Senators Wayne Allard and Ken Salazar have also expressed support for the center.
