The Mesa County Sheriff's Office changed tactics in its search for a man missing and presumed drowned in the Gunnison River.
25–year–old Edgar Moralez was swimming in the river during a family outing Monday evening. He apparently got to close to the roller dam and went under.
Members of the volunteer Mesa County Search and Rescue team began looking for the man yesterday morning after an earlier search by Sheriff's deputies failed to find the man. Although the search continues immediately below the dam, people are now scouring the surface as far downriver as Loma.
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office says the search will go on for probably five days before the teams take a break to re–evaluate.
