A power outage made for loss of business and a traffic mess on Horizon Drive Friday afternoon.
Xcel Energy says the power went out at about 3:20 p.m. The outage was caused by water from the rainstorm that penetrated a weak underground cable. The affected areas were H Road from 27 Road to the airport, and Horizon Drive to G Road.
Crews were on scene within minutes and got the power back on thirty minutes later, except for Walker Field. The power was turned back on for the airport around 4:30 p.m. Xcel Energy will have crews out next week to replace the underground cable.
