The 12th Annual Council Tree Pow Wow concluded Sunday in Delta with a grand entry performance by several area American Indian Tribes.

The Council Tree Pow Wow started 12 years ago as a way to remember the heritage of the City of Delta and the Ute tribes. The Pow Wow attracts not only the tribe members, but non tribal members who want to learn about American Indian history.

And to remember their heritage, dancing and singing is performed. One of the popular routines is the Gourd Dance. The Pow Wow is one way for the American Indians to spread their oral tradition to future generations.
