Life Care Appears At County Commissioners

A private ambulance company that was ordered by the City of Grand Junction to stop providing services, went before the Mesa County Commissioners Monday to try to get back in business.

Life Care Ambulance owner Dave Anderson went before the commissioners to appeal a previous denial of an application to supply medical services in the Grand Junction area. The county says they rejected his application because it was incomplete. On order for it to be complete, the City of Grand Junction would need to provide a letter of recommendation. But earlier this year, the Grand Junction City Council adopted a resolution that allows only the city fire department to provide emergent and non – emergent services in the city. Life Care Ambulance claims the decision is a monopoly.

Life Care Ambulance plans on going before the commissioners again with a request to change the resolution so that a letter of recommendation is not needed.
