Four people killed in a plane crash en route to Telluride have been identified. According to San Miguel County Coroner all four victims are from Texas. The coroner says he has extreme circumstantial evidence which leads him to believe the pilot is 27–year–old Mark Cochran, and the passengers aboard are 25–year–old Brendan Culbert, 26–year–old Kristin Kirkley, and James Flanagan.

The wreckage of the plane spans over a two mile area between 14–hundred and 13–hundred feet in steep terrain at the summit of Wilson Peak.

The plane was headed to the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival when it crashed at an estimated speed of 180 mph in bad weather. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash, however reoccurring rock falls, ice and snow in addition to the steep terrain have made recovery efforts difficult.

A US Army Black Hawk Helicopter is assisting the San Miguel County Sherriff's Office Search and Rescue Team. This is the second fatal plane crash in the area since June of last year.
