The one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina has passed, but many who were caught in the storm are still living with anxiety and depression. On Friday, Healing Horizons Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and Rising Sun Acupuncture will be teaming up for the first ever Community Acupuncture Event.
The two groups hope to raise money for the organization Acupuncturists Without Borders which provides treatment to victims of natural disasters. Acupuncturist April Schulte says while some people may be scared of needles, the pain is minor and the benefits are major.
The Community Acupuncture Event is this Friday at the Fairmont Health Park from 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Attendees can take part in demonstrations or just sit back and watch. Donations are welcome. For more information call 256–8449 or 245–0543.
