4 hospitalized after Lakewood shed explodes

DENVER (AP) -- Four people were hospitalized after a shed exploded in Lakewood, and investigators have linked narcotics to the blast.

Detective Ryan McKone tells The Denver Post that Saturday night's explosion was not caused by the manufacture of methamphetamine, but he did not elaborate.

He says all four people who were injured were in the shed at the time and suffered "varying degrees of burns."

Dale Ward, who lives across the street from where the explosion took place, says he heard a boom at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday and saw flames shooting up from the shed.

McKone says no other structures were damaged in the fire.
