Grand Junction Teen Dies in Crash

A Grand Junction teenager is dead after a one-car rollover crash on Interstate 70 in Garfield County Thursday night.

The Colorado State Patrol says that 16-year-old Diana L. Luttrall was a passenger in a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by 22-year-old Stephen Ludwig of Rifle. CSP says Ludwig was driving westbound on I-70 at 11:30 pm Thursday night when he lost control and ran off of the left side of the road, went through the median and rolled the SUV. Luttrall was ejected from the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Ludwig was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained during the crash. Authorities say that alcohol and excessive speed were contributing factors in the crash.
