A Grand Junction woman charged for her involvement in a fatal accident back in August of 2005 was in court today to receive her sentence.
Thirty-nine–year old Christy Buesher was sentenced today after pleading guilty, about a week ago, to vehicular homicide and careless driving resulting in death.
Back in August of 2005 Buesher ran a red light near Patterson and 28 road, where she collided with a vehicle killing the driver, 27–year–old Stanna Lindholm.
An investigation showed that Buesher had cocaine and opiates in her car at the time of the crash.
Today Buesher was sentenced to a year in jail and 10 years of probation. After putting in 6 months of jail time, Buesher will then go to the work release program for 2 years. She will also have to pay fines, costs and restitution which add up to be nearly 18 thousand dollars.
Buesher is not allowed to drive during her 10 year probation period. She also must sell her car immediately and the money will go to Lindholm's family trust.
