A Delta Connection regional jet en route to Salt Lake City made an emergency landing at Walker Field Airport this morning.
Just after nine this morning the pilot of the RJ700 regional jet contacted the Walker Field control tower to report one of its' two engines shut down. The jet, carrying 67 passengers, landed safely in heavy rain.
A replacement plane was sent to pick up the passengers about two hours later.
An airport ambassador says weather was causing some slight delays in flights in and out of Salt Lake City, but otherwise air traffic in the region was running smoothly this morning.
