Woman And Infant Unharmed After Being Hit By Car

A young woman who was carrying an infant was hit by a car while on a cross walk in the 2700 block of Unaweep Avenue Monday evening, but escaped without injury.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department, the driver of the red Ford Escort was driving westbound and claims he did not see the woman crossing the street because of a blinding sun.

The pedestrian and the infant were transported to Saint Mary's Hospital as a precaution and police may cite the driver for reckless driving.
